Sweepstakes Increases HGTV.com Traffic by 44%

Releasing results from its recent Gardenstakes Giveaway promotion, Home & Garden Television (HGTV) announced that the number of 2001 entries for the sweepstakes totaled 764,345, more than a 150% increase over last year's tally of 294,507 entries. The majority of these entries came through the HGTV.com (www.hgtv.com) website, which saw a 44% increase in traffic during the promotion.
The highest number of Internet entries was received during the period when HGTV distributed its first HGTV Ideas email newsletter, which featured a prominent call-to-action notice and link to the entry page. In addition, 16,582 entries were received from HGTV viewers who entered through Wink Communications-enabled interactive television services.
