Yahoo Launches New iPhone Search Apps

Yahoo has introduced a pair of new search applications for the iPhone. Sketch-A-Search gives a hands-on twist to search, allowing someone to user their finger to draw a circle around a location for information about local businesses in a specific area. The app will start with restaurant reviews and ratings and add more business categories over time. Sketch-A-Search also defaults to a user's current location, remembers prior locations and can be cleared for a new search by shaking the iPhone or clicking on the Sketch icon.
Separately, the new Yahoo search app boasts new features including faster results, localized query suggestions that display as you type, voice search and local content including photos, ratings, phone numbers, and more from Yahoo Local, Yelp, and Citysearch. --Mark Walsh
