CHERYL BERMAN will be featured as the presenter of the Marketing Trends session of The Giant Screen Theater Association(R)'s 2001 Annual Conference & Trade Show in Chicago. Berman is the Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett USA.
Premier Retail Networks (PRN) has hired AMY KAUFER as VP of Entertainment Advertising Sales. She has worked extensively in ad sales for magazines. Also at PRN, KATHY KRASENICS has been named VP of Entertainment Advertising Sales. Prior to joining PRN in 1999, Krasenics was the director of sales and marketing for Mystic Fire Video. Last, but not least, PRN has hired TOM LEIHBACHER as Regional VP, Advertising Sales. Leihbacher has more than 20 years of ad sales experience, including work at Ziff-Davis Publishing.
JOHN GEE was named VP - Sales/Strategic Account Management for Wink Communications. Prior to his move to Wink he was Senior Director of Sales for AdForce, Inc.
ABC Cable Networks Group completed the management alignment for the newly created Worldwide Brand Strategy and Planning group with the selection of a management team. SANDY WAX has been promoted to senior VP, brand strategy and planning, and ADAM SANDERSON assumes a new position as senior VP, brand marketing. Additionally, JOHN ROOD has been named VP of brand marketing. SCOTT FULLER will serve as the group's VP of brand management. VYCKI SMALDINO has been promoted to VP of brand services.
ANDREW PERINI has been named Group Sales Manager of the Los Angeles Apollo sales team for Eagle Television Sales. Most recently, Perini was Account Manager for Eagle Television Sales and Account Executive for Katz Television in San Francisco.
RAYSA RODRIGUEZ-LEON has been promoted to Sales Manager with Katz Hispanic Media (KHM) in Miami. She began her career with Katz Hispanic Media in 1997.
JONI ULLE has been appointed Sales Manager of Continental Television Sales (CTS) in Detroit. Ulle joined CTS in 1997 as an Account Executive for CTS in Detroit.
LISA DICKENS has been promoted from director of marketing to VP at Bridal Guide.
J.P. KYRILLOS has been upped from advertising director to associate publisher of Maxim magazine.
DAN GREENBLATT is retiring from his post as executive VP of sales at Warner Bros.
BRYCE ZABEL has been elected chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
DAVID WOODRUFF has been named Detroit sales manager at publisher G+J USA after spending the last two years at Ziff Davis Media-Detroit as regional advertising director.
LISA POLS has been named VP and general manager of media sales and marketing at Time Inc. She had been finance director for the company's consumer marketing division.
A feature documentary film on legendary newspaper editor JIM BELLOWS, titled "THE LAST EDITOR", has begun production. The film, which is being made by the producers of the award- winning PBS series, "The Living Century", will premiere on television in the first quarter of 2002, coinciding with the publication of Jim Bellows' memoirs, "The Last Editor: How I Saved The New York Times, the Washington Post, and the L.A. Times (from dullness and complacency)."
