Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, publisher of the fashion magazine ELLE, has launched ELLEgirl, a new teen title dedicated to fashion and beauty geared for girls ages 14-17 that will be available on nationwide newsstands today. Based on its research of teen behavior, Hachette Filipacchi Magazines is using a fresh marketing approach for ELLEgirl's newsstand launch. The ELLEgirl brand is the first teen magazine to have launched its website, ellegirl.com, prior to the launch of the print product and has incorporated user feedback from the site into the first edition of the magazine. The site has also served as the primary marketing tool in driving subscriptions, using hundreds of thousands of e-blasts to target teen email addresses. ELLEgirl's debut issue carries 75 advertising pages. Advertisers include Chanel, CK Jeans, Clairol, Clinique, Guess, Lancome, Neutrogena, Ralph Lauren Fragrances, Samsung, Swatch, and TJ Maxx.
