Oprah 'Microsalon' Opening At Chicago's Water Tower Place

Oprah Winfrey is opening another retail operation today -- this time a 138-square-foot upscale kiosk. It's located in the common space on the second floor of the Water Tower Place mall on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Sandra M. Jones reports, and will carry Oprah clothing, memorabilia and collectibles as well as items from the "O" signature baby collection and an assortment of South African crafts and jewelry.

The Oprah Store, a 5,500-square-foot shop, opened across from the talk-show star's Harpo Studios in 2008 and sells more than 700 products that represent "the style and taste of Oprah." Oprah also sells merchandise at theoprahstore.com.

More retail projects will be announced in coming weeks, promises Harpo Productions director of communications Dan Halcombe. "We're always looking for opportunities to expand," he says.
