Lifetime TV Goes Interactive With Wink

  • October 29, 2001
Wink Communications, Inc., and Lifetime Television today announced that Wink's Enhanced Broadcasting technology is now adding interactive capabilities to original programming on the network. Launched late August, the first programs to receive the Wink enhancements include Denise Austin's Fit & Lite and Denise Austin's Daily Workout. Lifetime's Wink-enhanced programming is available to the more than four million homes nationwide with a Wink-enabled cable set-top box or satellite receiver. Viewers watching Lifetime's enhanced Denise Austin broadcasts will be alerted that the programming is interactive by a blinking icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. When the viewer chooses to interact with the programming, they press a button on the remote control to access companion data -- the day's program schedule (including description), a horoscope and a daily health tip.
