Fox, NBC Seeking to Lease Saturday Morning Blocks

Reuters reported yesterday that the power of 'Pokemon' and round-the-clock cable cartoons has proven too much for NBC and Fox in the children's enclave of Saturday morning television -- so they have decided to leave the sandbox. Faced with increasingly stiff competition for young TV viewers, the two broadcast networks are seeking to lease out their Saturday morning time slots to outside programmers for a flat fee, officials at both companies said Thursday.
