Belo Posts Net Loss in '10, But Ups Exec Comp

Providence Journal parent A.H. Belo awarded its top five executives nearly $1.6 million in cash bonuses last year, reports WPRI, per SEC filings. The company posted a net loss in 2010 of $124.2 million, or $5.92 a share, compared with a loss of $107.9 million, or $5.25 a share, in 2009. Revenue fell 6% to $487.3 million. CEO Robert Decherd, whose total compensation tripled in 2010, warned that it may be a long time before the company can hand out performance-based raises to rank-and-file workers.
