In order to finish an article by Jonathan Franzen posted on the
New Yorker Web site, readers must go to the pub's Facebook page and "like" the story.
It's a
first for the magazine -- an attempt not just to increase its Facebook fans, but, according to mag spokesperson Alexa Cassanos, "to engage with people who want to engage on a deeper level."
(Oy, an icon of literacy giving us a quote riddled with corporate adspeak?)
