Benson, Provencio Get New Roles at ABC

Mike Benson and Marla Provencio have been named to head ABC Entertainment's Marketing, Advertising and On-Air Promotion Department. In their expanded roles, Benson and Provencio will jointly oversee all on-air and off-air marketing and promotional activities for ABC Entertainment, which includes all Primetime series, movies and specials, as well as Late-Night Entertainment programming. In addition, they will also focus on the brand positioning and identity of ABC Entertainment through a variety of packaging and promotional efforts. Benson joined ABC in 1998 as senior vice president, Marketing, Advertising & Promotion. He played a key role in developing and creating the brand positioning and identity of ABC Entertainment and the ABC Television Network. In 2000 Mr. Benson was named an Entertainment Marketer of the Year by BrandWeek Magazine.
Provencio started her career in on-air promotion at ABC in 1979 as production coordinator for the on-air promotion department. Over the years she has held various titles, including producer, senior producer and executive director of Daytime and Children's promotion. She Provencio served as vice president, overseeing all on-air creative for drama and long-form programming.
