Jupiter to Study Wi-Fi Hotspots

  • June 23, 2003
Jupitermedia Corporation said on Monday that its Jupiter Research division is launching a new multiclient study to explore the market opportunity for Wi-Fi Hotspots. Brands such as Starbucks and Marriott have recently struck partnerships and launched aggressive Wi-Fi initiatives. While many expect bottom-line contributions, few can articulate how to measure the value around these efforts. Jupiter Research will collaborate with technology vendors, service providers and end-users on this multiclient study to gain insight into the market opportunity. This multiclient study also intends to clarify revenue opportunities at different points along the value chain of public Hotspot services. The research will provide insight so that technology vendors, service providers and other interested parties will be armed with tools to help them evaluate and prioritize public wireless LAN product and service initiatives and ultimately develop winning strategies. Areas of consideration include venue, aggregation, customer care, billing, systems integration and more.
