Consumer Cellular, the exclusive wireless provider for the AARP, is encouraging people to write inspiring essays about their grandparents in honor of Grandparents Day, Sept. 11.

For the contest, which runs through Aug. 1, consumers are asked to submit either a 500-word essay or three-minute video on topics about what makes their grandparents (or parents) extraordinary. Grandparents can also submit essays based on their experiences or memories of being a grandparent.

Fifty semi-finalists will receive a $50 Expedia coupon to be used toward hotel booking, and five finalists will receive a $100 gift card. One Grand Prize winner will win a six-night Caribbean cruise.
