Study: Father's Day Spending To Rise 7%

A new survey from Brand Keys predicts that consumer spending this Father's Day is likely to rise 7%, with about 71% of consumers celebrating the day. The poll, based on 5,000 adults, found that gift cards will be most popular, and the choice of 35% of shoppers, followed by electronics, including tablets, electronic readers and smartphones, (26%), clothing (23%), and tools/automotive 19%. Another change? More devoted offspring will shop at department stores (35%, up 5% from last year) versus discount stores (32%, down 3% from last year.)
