Carat Taps Ray As President

Carat

Aegis Group said it has shifted executives and tapped Doug Ray as president of Carat USA. Ray, who has been an executive vice president at the agency while overseeing various accounts, such as P&G and Diageo, takes over for Martin Cass, who is moving to an unnamed post at Aegis.

Ray takes over July 1 as Carat has added new business from Beiersdorf, Home Depot and Red Bull over the last year.

Ray and Cass will report to Aegis North America CEO Nigel Morris. As for Cass, Aegis said he will build a group in pursuit of "the convergent agency of the future."

Morris stated that Ray is "a highly progressive media visionary and inspirational leader." Also, Steven Feuling, a managing director, becomes chief client officer at Carat USA, reporting to Ray.

Aegis North America includes Carat, Vizeum and Posterscope. Parent Aegis Group has confirmed that it is in talks with Ipsos to sell its research operation Synovate, which could lead to an acquisition of Aegis.
