OWN Goes 'Boss' This Fall

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will air repeats of "Undercover Boss" starting this fall. The show moves into its third year on CBS starting midseason.

OWN sister network TLC will also air the series, in which top executives leave the C-suite and try to experience what frontline employees deal with.

CBS Television Distribution inked the syndication deal. The series had nine episodes in its first season, but had a full order of 22 last season.

OWN has tried to brand itself with a "live your best life" mantra. CBS Television Distribution's Scott Koondel stated the show "focuses on improving lives, which very much reflects both networks' missions."

Winfrey promoted the series before its launch after the 2010 Super Bowl game on CBS, according to Stephen Lambert, chief executive of the eponymous production studio behind the show. The initial episode featured a top executive at Waste Management, who was exposed to some emotional struggles of his employees.

The second episode may not fit the OWN brand, as it featured restaurant chain Hooters. Other companies profiled include NASCAR, DirecTV and White Castle.
