Apple Profits, Sales Skyrocket

According to Apple's third quarter 2011 financial results, iPhone sales were up 142% over the same quarter a year ago (selling a total 20.34 million worldwide in the third quarter) and iPad sales increased 183% (selling 9.25 million devices in the quarter). Mac sales were up 14%, while iPod sales were down 20% from the same period a year ago.
Overall, the company posted revenue of $28.57 billion in the third quarter 2011 (compared with $15,7 billion for the same quarter in 2010) and a quarterly net profit of $7.31 billion (compared with $3.25 billion).Aaron Baar
