Strategic Move: Adler Named Partner At RLM Finsbury

Ed Adler, who left Time Warner last fall after years of heading corporate communications at the media giant, has joined strategic communications firm RLM Finsbury as a partner in its New York office.

The firm was formed over the summer by the merger of two WPP shops -- Robinson Lerer & Montgomery and Finsbury Group -- and has some expertise in financial and crisis communications. Adler set up a communications practice at MediaLink after leaving Time Warner, where he was executive vice president.

The MediaLink arm did some work with former Time Warner units, as well as TRA, the emerging media measurement firm and other clients. Kyle Giunta, who worked as account director under Adler, is also moving to RLM Finsbury.

The company has offices in New York, London, Brussels, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and recently opened one in Hong Kong to move into Asia.

Among RLM Finsbury clients are AstraZeneca, Fortune Brands and Activision. It advised Cadbury as it rejected a hostile takeover attempt by Kraft (the two eventually merged) and worked on the acquisition of Fortune Brands’ acquisition of Allied Domeq.

Walter Montgomery, CEO of RLM Finsbury, stated that Adler is “well-respected and has the unique perspective of someone who has directly advised three CEOs and the diverse businesses of Time Warner, while navigating some of the most challenging issues a public company can face.”
