It isn’t through with its six-episode run on NBC yet, but Kingpin is being released on DVD. NBC Enterprises said the first season of the drama in a “Producer’s Cut” version will be featured in a
three-DVD package available first at ShopNBC.com and later at retail outlets. It includes behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the cast and explicit footage not seen on NBC. Through its first
four telecasts, “Kingpin” has averaged a 4.6 rating, 12 share among adults 18-49 and 10.5 million viewers. "Kingpin" has won its slot three out of four times among adults 18-49 and four out of four
times among adults 18-34. All six episodes of the series will air on NBC during the current February sweeps. Two-time Emmy Award-winning executive producer/writer David Mills (“The Corner,” “ER,”
“NYPD Blue” and “Homicide: Life on the Street”) has created NBC’s gritty new series “Kingpin.” In this stylized drama, the struggles and machinations of a powerful Mexican drug-trafficking family are
displayed in graphic detail as they face challenges from both the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and from the dangerous underworld in which they reside.
