Time Warner Cable will enable subscribers to watch live TV on Android devices over in-home Wi-Fi early next year once the operating system is upgraded, reports Multichannel News. It already has such connections for Apple iOS phones and tablets -- after manufacturers upgrade to the next iteration of the Android operating system. The MSO released the TWC TV 1.0 app for Android smartphones, which allows expanded-basic video subscribers to check TV listings, program their DVR, add favorite channels and use their phones as a remote control.
