Rapping While Unwrapping: Mobile Encroaches On Holidays

More than one out of every four parents (27%) checked their mobile phone while opening presents with their families this holiday season, according to a survey of mobile phone usage -- and etiquette -- during the 2011 holiday season released this afternoon by Motricity.

The online study of 664 Americans 18 or older, which was conducted by Wakefield Research between Dec. 27, 2011 and Jan. 3, 2012, also found that only 50$ made it through a family celebration without checking their phone, nearly a quarter (24%) checked their phone at least once during dinner, and 9% checked their phone during a holiday religious service.
