Yahoo! Provide Exclusive Player Content on FIFAworldcup.com
Aug 19, 2003, 12:00 AM
Yahoo! on Tuesday announced a partnership with the US Women's National Soccer Team Players' Association to provide exclusive content to FIFAworldcup.com. Through the agreement, players on the US Women's national Soccer Team will provide fans exclusive behind-the-scenes access, insight and video commentary online throughout the tournament - in-depth interviews with every player, videos recorded by the players themselves and post-game analysis. FIFAworldcup.com is a popular destination for consumers, marketers and soccer professionals looking for the latest information and behind-the-scenes look at the tournament and the players. In 2002 FIFAworldcup.com set a new landmark in the history of the Internet and soccer by registering more than two billion page views during the tournament, making it one of the most popular sports-event sites ever. The Players Association's exclusive marketing agency, Charlotte, NC-based RMG3, brokered the relationship on their behalf.
