A new poll from the National Retail Federation shows that consumers are feeling a little more love for graduates this year, with one-third planning on buying a grad a gift, up from 30.7% in 2011.
The survey, conducted for the NRF by BIGResearch, found that a third of those are choosing gift cards, but clothing, greeting cards, cash and electronics also all saw a gain in popularity. On average, consumers say they plan to spend $99.94 on gifts this year, $9 higher than last year, with total spending expected to reach $4.7 billion.
