Biggest Summer Ever For Flicks

Comic book superheroes could make this summer the highest-grossing of all time at the box office. To do so summer movies will have to earn more than $4.3 billion. U.S. receipts to-date this summer, not counting the new Spidey flick, are already up 2% over the same time last year, according to Box Office Mojo. “The Amazing Spider-Man” could bring in $150 million over six days. The last Batman movie, “The Dark Knight,” earned $533 million in the U.S. and $1 billion globally. The new “Batman, The Dark Knight Rises” could do as well.
