'NY Observer' EIC Leaves For Startup

New York Observer editor-in-chief and editorial director Elizabeth Spiers, who joined the weekly in February 2011, is leaving to starting a new company, though she will remain as a business consultant for the Observer. Aaron Gell, currently the paper's executive editor, who also oversees its sites, Betabeat, Politicker, GalleristNY and VelvetRoper, is the new EIC.
