Weather Channel Hit By Layoffs
The Weather Channel laid off approximately 75-80 today as part of a mass restructuring, reports TVNewser. The Atlanta headquarters was hit hardest. A rep stated that 7% of the workforce would be affected. Weather last laid off employees in November, 2008, not long after NBCU got a controlling state along side private-equity firms Blackstone Group and Bain Capital, the company Mitt Romney co-founded.
