MEC Retains Mitsubishi Australia Media Biz

WPP’s MEC has retained the Mitsubishi Motors Australia media account following a review, the agency confirmed. Annual spending by the client is estimated at $40 million. Also contending was Starcom, a unit of Publicis Groupe. Separately MEC said that the South Australia Government extended its contract for two more years. Estimated spending for that assignment is $35 million. The shop is on a streak in Australia, where earlier this year it won Tiger Airways and the Seven Network TV operation.
