Study: Internet-Savvy Business Pros Use Local Search

New Kelsey Group survey data from a representative panel of BizRate.com users revealed that 74 percent perform local searches--and that of those who do, 27 percent of their search behavior is for local information. Seventy-five percent of survey respondents also said that the local information they search for had either somewhat or significantly improved over a year ago. The BizRate.com study asked 3,887 online consumers questions on a broad range of shopping and search-related topics. Respondents were 64 percent female and 36 percent male; seventy-nine percent have used the Internet for over 5 years, and 72 percent access the Internet with a high-speed connection. The average age was 44, and the average income was $64K.
