MediaVest, Mediaedge:cia Pick Up Additional Client Business

Both MediaVest and Mediaedge:cia received early Christmas presents from existing clients, as each were awarded additional business.

In MediaVest's case, the Publicis shop's existing client, Heineken USA, awarded the media planning and buying account for Dos Equis following a review that lasted several months. The media spending on the account is estimated at $10 million.

MediaVest USA has already handled media planning and buying for Heineken and its sister brand Amstel Light.

Meanwhile, WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia has been given additional media duties worth an estimated $75 million from global client Computer Associates. The areas MEC has picked up are print and online, sources said. MEC representatives referred calls to the client.

Last fall, Computer Associates unveiled eight-page inserts in newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and London's The Financial Times touting its CA management software, which includes Unicenter, eTrust, and BrightStor. The ads were created by MEC's WPP sister agency Young & Rubicam, which will continue to handle creative.
