'Daily Telegraph' Becomes UK's Most Profitable 'Quality' Paper

Telegraph Media Group has increased its operating profit to GBP61m for 2013, making The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph the most profitable quality British newspapers. The figures do not take in to account the metered pay wall introduced by the Telegraph in April. It charges GBP20 per year for those who wish to view more than 20 articles per month. The Times and The Sunday Times, as well as The Guardian, were loss making over the same period, while the Financial Times Group posted a GBP55m profit.
