Microsoft Doesn't Plan to Give the DOJ User Emails

Microsoft is refusing to hand over user emails to the US government that are stored in a data center in Ireland, despite being ordered to do so by a federal judge. The New York district judge Loretta Preska ruled in favor of the DOJ back in July, but Microsoft has had some time to appeal the decision before they were required to physically hand over the documents. In a new ruling from this past Friday, Preska gave Microsoft until September 5th to supply the data. However, a Microsoft spokesperson told Reuters today that the company plans to appeal the decision.
