Most 2014 Data Breaches Were Preventable: OTA

More than 90 percent of the data breaches that happened in the first half of 2014 could have been prevented if businesses had a strong risk prevention plan in order, says the Online Trust Alliance (OTA). In a new report from OTS, entitled, 2015 Data Protection Best Practices and Risk Assessment Guides, the organization revealed that 40 percent of data breaches that included exposure of personally identifiable information (PII) were caused by external intrusions.
