PETER MARINELLO: The National Advertising Review Council

The National Advertising Review Council , the advertising industry's independent self-regulatory body that provides guidance and sets standards of truth and accuracy for national advertisers, announced the appointment of PETER MARINELLO, ESQ., to head a newly-formed self-regulatory program created for the Electronic Retailing Association. The purpose of this program is to improve industry business practices and increase consumer confidence while also allowing direct response professionals a forum to review claims independently of federal regulation. Marinello is currently the associate director of the national advertising division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, which he joined as senior staff attorney in 1993.
