GUY D. "DOC" HOLLIDAY, director of engineering and maintenance operations, has been named vice president, advertising sales at the New York Times. Holliday will be responsible for managing The Times' classified advertising sales, including the real estate and recruitment categories as well as the eastern national sales offices, health care, home furnishing manufacturers and packaged goods. Holliday has been director of engineering and maintenance operations for The New York Times since 2000, and from March 2003 to March 2004 he was on active military duty as a major in the United States Army.
