Clarification: VNU To Keep Business Media, Nielsen Entertainment Separate

VNU, which Monday unveiled a new organizational structure for its Media Measurement & Information division, naming Nielsen Media Research President-CEO Susan Whiting, head of the division, has no plans to integrate its burgeoning Nielsen Entertainment operations into its Business Media U.S. unit, VNU Chairman-CEO R.F. van den Bergh told employees in an internal memo explaining the reorganization. As part of the changes, VNU named Business Media U.S. President-CEO Michael Marchesano head of Nielsen Entertainment. Andy Wing, CEO of Nielsen Entertainment, will continue to run those operations, and the unit will continue to operate as part of the P&L of VNU's MMI division, not Business Media U.S., which operates publications such as Adweek, Billboard, and The Hollywood Reporter.
