MarketWatch To Stream Video Updates To Mobile Phones

  • February 1, 2005
Dow Jones & Company's MarketWatch Tuesday began offering video on demand to cell phone users through Verizon Wireless, which earlier this week announced it would start streaming video clips to mobile phones. The MarketWatch streams will include five market update segments daily--each presented by an anchor, one to three minutes long, and produced specifically for mobile phones, said Adam Ritter, vice president of new media business development at MarketWatch. The company also plans to edit other video interviews to between one and three minutes, for a streaming mobile broadcast. As of now, the video streams will not contain ads.
