Microsoft Puts Plans In Place To Combat Terrorist Content Online

Microsoft said it is taking several steps to identify and combat extremist content online and will launch measures to carry out the task. the measures include a change in its terms of use to prohibit the posting of terrorist content on Microsoft consumer services like Xbox Live, OneDrive, Skype and Outlook, according to a blog post. "The Internet has become the primary medium for sharing ideas and communicating with one another, and the events of the past few months are a strong reminder that the Internet can be used for the worst reasons imaginable," per Microsoft. The company said it's helping to launch a public-private partnership aimed at preventing terrorist abuse on Internet platforms, and investing in research into technologies that can proactively search for and identify terrorist material online.
