NBC Avoids Emergency, Extends 'ER' For Two More Years

NBC has given "ER" at least two more years to live, as it announced its renewed series this week. Aside from the long-running hospital drama, "The West Wing," "Crossing Jordan,"
"Las Vegas," and "Joey" were also given the nod to continue. "ER," which has been on for 11 seasons, is averaging a 7.8 rating and a 20 share among adults ages 18-49 with 16.5 million viewers overall for the season, an NBC spokesman said. -- D.K.
