BBDO Wins eBay Bid, Comes Day After Saying Goodbye To Goodby

One day after dropping Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as its ad agency, online auction site eBay has chosen sister Omnicom Group shop BBDO New York to handle its U.S. creative work across all parts of the company's marketing operations, including Internet marketing, direct marketing, and print and television advertising. In 2004, eBay spent $455 million on global online and offline marketing programs, the San Jose, Ca.-based company said. Of that amount, approximately $250 million was spent in U.S. marketing initiatives. -- D.K.
