Time Moves On, History Goes Mobile

Independent media shop Horizon Media Tuesday announced the launch of a new mobile marketing venture for The History Channel. The History Channel's new mobile Web site, developed with the help of AvantGo, a service of iAnywhere Solutions, Inc., features quizzes with real-time results, daily history trivia, a programming schedule, "what's on now" updates, and e-mail opt-ins for future information about The History Channel, which will be sent directly to users' PDAs or smartphones. -- Gavin O'Malley
