The Advertising Council announced that JOHN DOONER JR., chairman, chief executive officer, McCann Worldgroup, has been elected as chairman of The Advertising Council. A board member since 2000, Dooner has served as a vice chairman of the Ad Council since June of 2001. He succeeds JANET ROBINSON, president and chief executive officer of The New York Times Company, and will serve in the position for one year.
