Jim Beam Gives PHD A Shot

Jim Beam Brands said it had chosen Omnicom's PHD to handle its estimated $25 million media account on Tuesday. PHD will run media buying and planning for the entire Jim Beam Brands portfolio domestically, including the Jim Beam, Starbucks Coffee Liqueur, Knob Creek Bourbon, and DeKuyper cordials. The media assignment follows a review that included contenders TargetCast and Horizon Media, and incumbent WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia, which did not defend. Mediaedge:cia will still handle global media planning and buying for the brands.
