Blinkx Now Searches Podcasts

  • June 30, 2005
Search provider blinkx on Wednesday released a service to find podcasts and video blogs. Users can also upload their own video blogs and podcasts to the site. Blinkx uses voice recognition software to transcribe the content of audio and video segments and index them, so people can find the material they're after by typing in words that match the content. The company began indexing podcasts in May, listening to approximately 20,000 podcasting channels, or about 500 hours of content per day.
