Profits, Revenues Jump At EBay

Online auction site EBay Wednesday reported that its net revenues for the second quarter jumped 40 percent compared to the same period last year, to $1.086 billion. The company's quarterly net profit surged 53 percent, from over $190 million in Q2 2004 to over $291 million this quarter--moving from 14 cents per share to 22 cents per share and beating analysts' predictions of only 18 cents per share.
