USA Today Drops July Ad Pages

Overall Gannett reported a stable ad performance for July, but ad revenues at USA Today fell 16% over July 2001. Corporately, newspaper advertising revenues were up 1% compared to 2001. Classified revenues increased 1%, employment revenues decreased 9%, classified real estate revenues advanced 6%, and automotive also increased by 5%. For YTD comparison s at USA TODAY paid pages numbered 2,794 compared to 3,232 last year, while ad revenues were 10% lower.
