AOL Time Warner Say YES

The New York Yankees, this year's runner up in the World Series, will have their own network, as Yankees Entertainment and Sports is about to get much of what it wants from AOL Time Warner Cable, signing a deal at around $2 per subscriber monthly. AOL's New York City systems will carry the network part time, sharing a channel with CNN/fn. The AOL deal gives YES Chairman Leo Hindery leverage against the other major metro New York MSOs, Cablevision Systems and Comcast. Cablevision, whose Madison Square Garden Network lost TV rights when the Yankees decided to start its own network, wants to make YES a pay network.
