Survey: Rock Fans Stream Weekly

Half of all visitors to local radio station sites stream stations at least once a month, and 11 percent download podcasts, according to a study released Monday by MediaSpan Network. Twenty-four percent of visitors to sports talk stations download podcasts at least weekly, while 22 percent of news talk listeners do the same. Half of visitors to so-called adult rock stations--those that play albums and singles from musicians like Sheryl Crow and Paul McCartney--stream weekly. The study was based on a survey of 35,000 online MediaSpan Network visitors, 69 percent of whom had broadband at home.
