Omnicom Profits Rise Despite Ad Slump

Omnicom Group Inc., the world's third-largest advertising company, said today its fourth-quarter earnings rose 15% despite the advertising slump. Omnicom said fourth-quarter profits rose to $164.1 million compared with $142.2 million in the year-earlier period. Revenues rose 9% to $1.97 billion from $1.80 billion for the quarter. Omnicom's client list includes PepsiCo Inc. and automaker DaimlerChrysler.
