Microsoft announced Tuesday that its free anti-virus package, Windows OneCare, has entered an open consumer beta along with the other emerging Windows Live features. Features of the open beta product
include the ability to backup files to external drives, scan files or folders, scan files received via MSN messenger, automated assistance in uninstalling programs that conflict with Windows OneCare,
and integration with Microsoft Windows' update software.
