Search giant Google last week added cross-functionality with its e-mail product, Gmail, and Web-based RSS reader, Google Reader. The mash-up inserts single "Web clips" from the user's subscribed
feeds, and a list of predetermined feeds, at the top of the page with a headline and when the story posted. The list of feeds is customizable within the Gmail options menu.
