NBC Universal's Sci Fi Channel on Wednesday announced plans to make behind-the-scene footage from its "Battlestar Galactica" series available on Apple's iTunes music store starting today. The half-hour of footage, which users can transfer to their video iPods, is free and comes without ads--and will later air on cable television on Jan. 2. The offering is the first free content to come out of the deal announced earlier this month between NBC Universal and Apple to distribute a wealth of new and archived shows through iTunes for $1.99 an episode. In addition to "Battlestar Galactica," consumers can purchase episodes of "Law & Order," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," and the original "Dragnet."
